Animal Aunts the
Home and Pet sitters
BARF
BARF stands for Bones And Raw Food or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food - obviously!
Some vets now believe that pets should be fed on a diet as close as possible to that which they would eat in the wild, i.e. raw meat and offal, raw meaty bones, and raw vegetables. We have been feeding our dogs entirely this way for a number of years and the results speak for themselves, they are fit, energetic (not hyperactive), have beautifully clean teeth, and virtually never go to the vet. Zinger (4 years) in the photo was weaned straight onto raw meat and vegetables and was soon crunching up raw chicken wings quite happily. We have also had many of instances of Client's dogs fed on some 'complete' foods having behavioural problems, particularly hyperactivity which have been greatly helped by this diet. Anyway that's our experience, so have a look at www.ukbarfclub.co.uk - this site is sponsored by a raw meat supplier (www.naturesmenu.co.uk) , but it has a lot of information including books to read, links, veterinary advice etc. Read and make up your own mind. www.ukrmb.co.uk not only give advice but are trying to lobby to make vets aware of the advantages of this kind of diet, and to stop the conflict of interest that arises from vets selling nutritional products.

Contemporary Designs in Reclaimed Wood
All
Phoenix Woodcrafts'
work is produced in West Sussex from locally sourced salvaged wood.
An estimated 1.8 million tonnes of wood
waste goes into UK landfill each year, most of which could be reused for
something, whether it is for woodcraft, DIY or just for firewood. A good
proportion of our wood was destined for landfill.
Car dog box / cage
We have had these dog boxes for the car for over 15 years and they are (in my humble opinion) the best a dog (and a car) can get. The main part of the cage (floor, front and side walls) is made of some sort of heavy duty white nylony / plastic and metal caging is coated . In summer simply open the tailgate of your car and your dogs are safely caged but in the fresh air. The whole box can be picked up by one person and slid in / out of the back of your car as required, so converting your car from carrying dogs to normal use in seconds. The box can be used as a stand alone portable kennel when out of the car. The floor material is waterproof, warm to lie on, easily cleaned and seems to last forever even with constant use. The doors are sprung so there is no cage rattle at all. If they don't make one for your car they will measure up and build to your requirements. www.lintran-products.co.uk
